Water problems at state’s largest prison
MCI-Norfolk has had elevated levels of manganese. Since 2011, when the prison suffered major problems with its water system, 43 percent of water samples taken have had levels of 0.3 mg/liter or more of the mineral. Prolonged exposure of elevated levels can be harmful.
