Jim Puzzanghera directs the Globe’s coverage from Washington, D.C. He has worked as a journalist in the nation’s capital since since 1998 and is a two-time National Press Club award winner for Washington reporting. Before arriving at the Globe in 2019, Puzzanghera covered business and economic issues from the Los Angeles Times’ Washington, D.C., bureau. A native of Melrose, Mass., Puzzanghera’s career began in New England at the New Haven Register in Connecticut. He also has worked for the St. Petersburg Times, Newsday and the San Jose Mercury News.
