Since joining the Globe in 1977, John Carney has worked in the Sports Department. He started on the copy desk in 1981.

Now he works primarily on the digital side — editing copy, doing rewrites, writing headlines and teasers, adding photos, videos, and links to stories, and posting them promptly.
