Malden Catholic hockey coach John McLean steps down

Malden Catholic reached the 2018 Super 8 semifinals.

John McLean, who guided Malden Catholic to four Super 8 hockey titles in five finals appearances, has stepped down after six seasons as head coach.

“These past years have been very special, and I am proud to have coached so many wonderful young men,” McLean said in a statement.

Malden Catholic athletic director Patrick Driscoll said McLean “always gave 100 percent to Malden Catholic and his player, he always has and always will do what is in the best interestes of his players.”
