Abortion foes take an interest in a child’s life — up to a point

Re “New York’s celebration of abortion bill is an abhorrent display” (Letters, Feb. 4): To the people who oppose abortion as acting against the will of God, I have three questions:

Are you willing to adopt and raise a child born in poverty to a teenage mother?

Are you willing to have your taxes raised to provide the resources needed by teenage mothers who would be forced to raise a child in poverty?

Or would you rather sit in your warm homes and harass young women to the point of giving birth, and then walk away and say, “It’s your problem now”? I don’t think that is what Jesus meant when he said to love your neighbor.
