A bit of a reach in looking for portent in Kate Spade’s suicide

Re “The burdens of a brand” (Business, June 11): Why is there an entire article about the stresses of women building their own businesses in response to Kate Spade’s suicide? Early reports described her troubles as rooted, at least in part, in marital problems. And even if stress from her work somehow added to Spade’s burdens, there is no justification for emphasizing that stress-based suicide comes from women being entrepreneurial as opposed to, say, working three jobs in retail. Moreover, why no discussion of whether males should be careful when choosing careers as TV hosts who travel the world and enjoy interesting food?
