    How Luke Perry’s friends, co-stars are reacting to his death

    As news hit Monday afternoon that Luke Perry — the actor known for his roles in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Riverdale” — had died at 52, several of his friends and co-stars were memorializing the ‘90s heartthrob.

    Ian Ziering, who played Steve on “90210,” tweeted out a touching tribute.

    Molly Ringwald, who also has a character on “Riverdale,” tweeted that her heart was “broken.”

    The “Riverdale” producers also put out a statement saying those involved with the show were “deeply saddened” by his passing.

    Alyson Stoner, who co-starred with Perry in ‘‘Alice Upside Down,’’ also shared some photos.

    Christine Elise McCarthy, who also worked with Perry on “90210,” posted a photo to Instagram.

    Donnie Wahlberg also tweeted a photo of the pair and his memories of Perry, adding, “Cherish every moment.”

    More actors and notable names expressed their sadness as well.

    Perry died Monday after suffering a massive stroke, his publicist said. He was surrounded by family and friends when he died.

    The actor had been hospitalized since last Wednesday, after a 911 call summoned medical help to his home in the Sherman Oaks section of Los Angeles.
