    Speaker series kicks off at Franklin museum

    The Franklin Historical Museum is launching a speaker series the second Sunday of each month focusing on a broad range of local historical topics. The series is scheduled to start Sunday, Feb. 11, at 1:15 p.m. with a presentation by Paul Compton, a longtime resident who has engineered the relocation of five historic homes in town, on saving the town’s historic homes from demolition. Future speakers will discuss the blizzard of 1978, notable women in the town’s history, the Oliver Pond House, King Philip’s War and Franklin’s war memorials and monuments, among other topics.
