    A repair café, a documentary, and a dance show

    The Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley will host a Repair Café to encourage people to reduce waste Saturday, Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event aims to help those with damaged items become more knowledgeable about how to make basic repairs. Volunteers will be on hand to help mend clothing, small appliances, bikes, toys, computers, and other electronics. Attendees are asked to stay while their items are being fixed so they can learn to make repairs on their own. The Repair Café will be held in the cafeteria of the Florence Sawyer School, located at 100 Mechanic St., Bolton.     The Framingham Public Library will host a screening of the documentary “Disturbing the Peace” Thursday, Jan. 18. The film follows the partnerships between Israeli soldiers who once fought in elite units and formerly imprisoned Palestinian fighters. The producer and director of the documentary, Stephen Apkon, will be at the screening for discussion before and after the film. The screening is free to all and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Library Costin room .     Dancer Nic Gareiss will perform in a one-person percussive dance show titled “Solo Square Dance” in Harvard Sunday, Jan. 21 at 4:45 p.m. Doors open at 4:15 p.m. The event is hosted by notloB Music commemorating the Irish Public Dance Halls Act of 1935, which regulated dance halls in Ireland to the point of hurting both jazz clubs there and traditional Irish musical activities.
