A new EV charging station has been installed at the Russell Common parking lot in Arlington Center. “The use of electric vehicles is rapidly expanding,” said Arlington Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine. “By adding this dual-port charging station, the town will increase EV charging capacity for town vehicles, residents, business owners, their employees, and shoppers in the Arlington Center business district.” Parking and charging (energy) fees apply and the spots may only be used when charging. The initiative is part of the town’s commitment to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. Other initiatives include installation of LED streetlights, solar panels, and requiring the purchase of fuel-efficient fleet vehicles.Jennifer Fenn Lefferts can be reached at email@example.com.
