Franklin’s summer concert series starts July 12

Franklin’s annual Concerts on the Common summer series kicks off Wednesday, July 12, with a classic rock ’n’ roll and pop performance by The Leeds Band. Concerts will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the town common, and will include The Sharon Bands July 19, the Franklin Performing Arts Company’s Electric Youth July 26, Frank Padula Aug. 2, Mike Rutkowski Aug. 9 and Matt Zajac and Friends Aug. 16. Children’s programming will also precede many of the performances from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and a picnic meal. In the event of rain, concerts will be held at the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School across the street from the common.
