The racial makeups of Quincy, Brockton, and Boston, and their police departments.

Quincy’s sworn police officers: 96.7 percent white; 2.3 percent Asian; 0.5 percent black; 0.5 percent Hispanic.

City population: 61.2 percent white and non-Hispanic; 28 percent Asian; 5.3 percent black; 3.2 percent Hispanic.


Brockton’s sworn police officers: 67 percent white; less than 1 percent Asian; 26.7 percent black; 5.6 percent Hispanic.

City population: 39.6 percent white and non-Hispanic; 41 percent black; 1.8 percent Asian; 10 percent Hispanic.

Boston’s sworn police officers: 66.5 percent white; 2.2 percent Asian; 21.8 percent black; 9.3 percent Hispanic.

City population: 45.3 percent white and non-Hispanic; 25.4 percent black; 9.3 percent Asian; 19 percent Hispanic.
