Man carjacked at gunpoint in Burlington

Police are investigating after a man was carjacked at gunpoint Monday evening in Burlington, officials said.

The man had just pulled into his parking space at the Beacon Village apartment community and was checking his email on his phone when a man opened the driver’s side door, put a gun to his chest, and forced him away from his car, Burlington Police Chief Michael Kent said in a statement.

The man reported that three black men in their late teens or early 20s got into the car, a 2018 black Audi A4 sedan, Kent said. The car’s license plate is 8GW848.

The victim was not injured, Kent said. His keys, wallet, and phone were taken.

“This was a brazen, violent and unprovoked attack on an innocent resident,” he said. “These types of acts are not common in our community and we have no tolerance for them.”

Kent asked anyone with any information to contact the Burlington police at (781) 272-1212.
