A state trooper called for help on his radio after a car struck and injured him and a tow truck driver while they were assisting a disabled vehicle on Interstate 95 in Wakefield early Tuesday morning , State Police said.
Both the trooper and tow driver were taken to Lahey Hospital & Medical Care in Burlington for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, State Police said in a statement.
Both were standing outside their vehicles when they were struck at 6:11 a.m.
The tow truck was also struck, police said. Two motorists may have also sustained injuries “believed at this time to be minor,” the statement said.
The incident is unver investigation. No charges have been filed at this point.
