    What’s happening at HUBweek Thursday?

“Parenting When Pot is Legal. Now What?” 10 a.m., 1 City Hall Square (Ideas Dome):

Now that recreational pot is legal in Massachusetts, many parents are wondering how to navigate mixed messages and explain to kids about drug use. Speakers, including Executive Director of the Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds at Massachusetts General Hospital Gene Beresin and Director of Neuroscience at MGH Jodi Gillman, will discuss the science of marijuana, the alcohol vs. pot debate, issues with driving under the influence of marijuana, and more. Free or paid pass, registration required at

“A Conversation with Glennon Doyle,” 1 p.m., Faneuil Hall:

Bestselling author, activist, and founder of Together Rising, Glennon Doyle will discuss her personal story of addiction, recovery, and healing with her hopeful perspective on the beauty and power of facing your personal truth. Olympic gold medalist and Doyle’s wife, Abby Wambach, will moderate the hour-long event. Registration required at

Silent Disco (Live Performance), 8:30 p.m., The Hub, 1 City Hall Square:

Grab a set of wireless headphones and dance to the music played by three of Boston’s best DJs. The catch? You’ll appear to be dancing in silence, but no worries, your colorful headphones will light up to show which channel you’re listening to. Get moving! Registration required at
