Rain, rain, rain. On Marathon Monday, it did not go away

    John Tlumacki/Globe Staff

It’s not news to the thousands who ran the Boston Marathon or to those who stood along the course to cheer the runners on that it rained on Monday. But the National Weather Service now has some rainfall tallies for communities on the course and across the state.

Although data is not available for every community along the Marathon’s 26.2 mile course between Hopkinton and downtown Boston, here’s the breakdown for Marathon communities currently available:

     Hopkinton 2.30 inches

     Natick 1.40
