Aww: Part of today’s nor’easter took the shape of a heart

If you forgot to get your sweetheart something for Valentine’s Day a month ago, maybe you can get away with saying this is your gift.

As a nor’easter slammed into Massachusetts early Tuesday, the winds and snow blew just right to form a heart in the midst of the storm just off the coast, according to satellite images posted to Twitter by meteorologists.

The National Weather Service tweeted a .gif of the storm around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, but officials did not mention the apparent heart shape in the middle.


However, at least one commenter noticed.

Weather service officials announced on Tuesday afternoon that the storm had officially become a blizzard in Boston and other parts of Massachusetts. The nor’easter is expected to slam parts of the state with up to nearly 2 feet of snow, and more than 155,000 were already without power by the afternoon.
