Woman dies after being pinned under vehicle in Westford Market Basket parking lot

A woman died after her car was pushed on top of her by another vehicle in the parking lot of a Market Basket in Westford Wednesday morning, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said in a statement.

The unidentified woman, who was in her 50s, was “at the back of her motor vehicle” in the Market Basket lot at 6A Cornerstone Square around 11 a.m. Wednesday when the incident occurred, Ryan said.

A second vehicle struck the woman’s car while parking, causing her vehicle to roll backwards and “pinning her underneath,” Ryan said.

The driver of the second vehicle remained on scene after the collision, and no charges have been filed.
