Lynn man arrested for fatal stabbing

A Lynn man was arrested Sunday and charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a man at the apartment building where he lives in Lynn, the Essex District Attorney’s office said.

George McBrier, 50, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Lynn District Court. He allegedly stabbed Keenan Barr, 27, to death inside the apartment building at 145 Lewis St., prosecutors said.

Lynn police responded to a 911 call to the address at 10:22 a.m. on Sunday. Barr was found suffering from multiple stab wounds in an apartment. He was taken to Salem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, prosecutors said.

McBrier, who lives in the building where the stabbing occurred, was taken to Lynn Union Hospital with non-life threatening injuries before being taken into custody.
