Driver overdoses, crashes car in Falmouth

A man fell unconscious and crashed his car in Falmouth on Saturday afternoon while overdosing on heroin, police said.

Falmouth police and fire responded at about 3:15 p.m. to a report of a rollover crash on Ter Heun Drive. The victim, identified only as a man in his 40s who lives on the lower Cape, was injured, police said in a press release.

He was driving alone in a 2000 Toyota 4Runner when he apparently passed out, crossed the center line and struck a utility pole, the release said.

The man had to be extricated from the car, which was found on its roof and leaking gas. He was administered first aid, “including . . . multiple doses of Narcan,” a drug that reverses the effects of heroin.
