AVID ADVENTURERS

Timan I got brunch on Newbury and drinks at a rooftop bar with a few friends and then went home to get ready.

Aditi I spent the day on Newbury Street, so when I got home I took a nap, watched some Game of Thrones. On the ride over, I texted my friends for reassurance.

Timan I gave the hostess my name and she walked me to our table. Aditi was cute but not really my “type.”

Aditi He was well dressed and had a friendly smile.

BRIDGING THE DIVIDE

Timan We started talking right away. We talked about how neither of us had previously been to Charlestown. We both thought Charlestown was in the suburbs. Her apartment was probably a 5-to-10-minute walk from mine in Back Bay.

Aditi We thought it was funny that we were sent to Charlestown when we lived so close to each other!

Timan Monument was amazing! The food and service were phenomenal. Their McAvoy cocktail was probably the best espresso martini I have ever had: Grey Goose, Baileys, hazelnut, butterscotch, cold-brew coffee, and shaved chocolate on top.

Aditi I’m a big whiskey fan, so I was excited to see a cocktail featuring chamomile-infused bourbon. I got the fava bean tortellini. At the end, we were brought chocolate doughnut holes.

Timan We talked about our work and how we like to go out during the week. She had just moved to Boston, so I gave her a few recommendations.

Aditi We also talked about places we’ve traveled. His favorite was Morocco, somewhere I’ve always wanted to go. I told him about going to Oktoberfest in Munich, which was on his bucket list.

Timan I am moving to Sydney, Australia, in September for an 18-month rotation, so we talked about our experiences abroad.

Aditi It was brave of him to move somewhere he didn’t know anybody.

SEPARATE ITINERARIES

Timan Aditi was very easy to talk to and it was definitely a fun date.

Aditi We both are pretty outgoing people. After dessert they brought the check. The place was getting crowded, so it seemed like a good time to leave.

Timan She was going to her friend’s rooftop in Back Bay and I was going to a pregame in the West End. We talked about meeting up later with our friends.

Aditi We exchanged numbers and hugged goodbye.

SECOND DATE?

Timan I think we could be good friends!

Aditi Probably not, but I would love to hang out again as friends!
