The American Repertory Theater raised a recording-breaking $1.4 million at its annual gala last week, as more than 500 people gathered at the Boch Center Wang Theatre to celebrate artistic director Diane Paulus’s 10th anniversary at the ART and honor Drew Gilpin Faust , Harvard president emerita, with the Angel Award.

During the event, Betsy Wolfe , Sumayya Ali , Elizabeth Stanley , and Desi Oakley (from left) sang “Thank U” — from the “Jagged Little Pill” musical — to Paulus. Under Paulus’s direction, the musical premiered at the ART and is scheduled to make its Broadway debut this fall. LILLIAN BROWN
