The Institute of Contemporary Art Boston will present Yayoi Kusama’s “LOVE IS CALLING” starting Sept. 24, according to ICA director Jill Medvedow

“LOVE IS CALLING” is the largest of Kusama’s 20 “Infinity Mirror Rooms.” It features inflatable sculptures in a dark mirrored room to create the appearance of an infinite space, along with a looped recording of the artist reciting a love poem in Japanese.

The installation will be paired with “Beyond Infinity: Contemporary Art After Kusama,” an exhibition of several works influenced by Kusama.

“We are thrilled to share Yayoi Kusama’s groundbreaking work, beloved by audiences around the globe,” Medvedow said in a statement. “‘LOVE IS CALLING’ offers visitors the opportunity to experience the artist’s notion of the infinite, as well as her public performances that connect personal and political ideas about peace and connectivity.”

Both exhibitions will be on display through February 2021.
