“The Secret Life of Muslims,” created by Tufts University alum Joshua Seftel, is back for a second season and is celebrating with a star-studded launch party at New York University.

Season one of the Emmy- and Peabody-nominated documentary series featured interviews with comedian Ahmed Ahmed, former NYPD chaplain Khalid Latif, magazine founder Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, Women’s March organizer Linda Sarsour, Olympian Ibtihaj Muhammad, and journalist Dena Takruri.

WWE professional wrestler Mustafa Ali, comedian Negin Farsad, and boxer Amaiya Zafar are slated to attend the launch party on Feb. 20.

Executive Producer Seftel is best known for directing the first two seasons of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” producing “Taking on the Kennedys,” and producing several television series for WGBH Boston.

Reza Aslan, also an executive producer, is the best-selling author of “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth” and “No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam,” and was a producer of HBO’s “The Leftovers.”
