Ye called with big news.
Kanye West says it’s big news, anyway.
On Saturday, the performer said he no longer wanted to be known as Kanye.
Ye will do.

I am YE
West made the pronouncement hours before he performed on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” (more on that in a bit).
If Ye sounds familiar . . . well, it is. It’s the title of the album West released earlier this year. Is this a ploy to move product?
On “SNL,” West performed a pair of songs: “I Love It” and “We Got Love.”

The crowd reacted a bit more positively to “We Got Love.”
A pretty full day, right?
But wait — there’s more.
According to Variety, West went off on a political tirade after his performance, discussing his support for President Trump and his vow to run for president (presumably challenging Trump) in 2020.Sean Smyth can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Follow him on Twitter @smythsays.
