A Boston audience got its first look Monday at the new documentary “Pope Francis: A Man of His Word,” an intimate look at the pope as he travels the globe with a message of reform. The screening at the Coolidge Corner Theatre was part of the Globe Docs series, and included a lively discussion with three area theologians — American Baptist minister Harvey Cox, professor of divinity emeritus at Harvard; Rafael Luciani of Boston College, a senior adviser to the Latin American Bishop’s Conference; and Francis Schussler Fiorenza of Harvard Divinity School. “Pope Francis” is directed by Wim Wenders, a three-time Oscar-nominee for best documentary for “Buena Vista Social Club” (1999), “Pina” (2011), and “The Salt of the Earth” (2014). It’s scheduled to open in Boston on May 18.
