Twitter has some thoughts about Tom Brady’s suit at the Met Gala

You have to give Tom Brady credit for trying something a little unusual at the Met Gala, the annual fund-raiser for New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art known for daring costumes and sometimes referred to as the “East Coast Oscars.”

The theme of the event was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” leading some stars to show up in celestial-inspired gowns and others channeling religious themes.

But when the New England Patriots quarterback showed up to the event Monday night dressed in a gold-embroidered tuxedo over a black turtleneck to match his wife, Gisele Bundchen, who wore a gold satin Versace gown, some on Twitter weren’t having it.

He was compared, rather unfavorably, to a magician:

Others thought Brady looked more like a movie villain:

Twitter came up with a host of imaginary careers for this bedecked version of the five-time Super Bowl champion, including matador, mariachi band member, “Game of Thrones” also-ran:
