Patriots receiver Julian Edelman stopped rehabbing his injured knee long enough to read his new children’s book to a few lucky kiddos at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center’s holiday tree and wreath auction. The annual event raised $30,000 for Christmas in the City, which supports homeless families and provides gifts and a little holiday cheer for more than 18,000 children in need. Edelman, who wore a fairly hideous holiday sweater for the occasion, was in a festive mood as he read “Flying High 2,” the sequel to his first book, “Flying High.” Guests included Police Commissioner Bill Evans, Transportation Commissioner Gina Fiandaca, and Seaport Hotel GM Jim Carmody, among others.
