Many noted guests at season-opening Tanglewood Gala

Over 400 guests attended the Tanglewood Gala on Friday evening, which included a cocktail reception and dinner before Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra kicked off their 2017 Tanglewood season with a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2. Among the many guests were famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, ABC News’s Deborah Roberts and her husband, NBC weatherman Al Roker, Kim Taylor (wife of singer James Taylor) and son Rufus, journalist Harry Smith, and, from WGBH, Margery Eagan, Jim Braude, and Amanda McGowan.
