Single Sips for those on the go

The Republic of Tea, the California company that packages fine teas in attractive canisters, last year introduced a line of Single Sips, convenient pre-measured, slim packets filled with organic herbs, spices, and teas ($20 for 14). Perfect for on-the-go sipping, they can be shaken directly into a water bottle for an energizing drink or stirred in a mug of hot water. One is U-Matcha, made with organic stone-ground Japanese matcha; another, Turmeric, is spicier, like chai, blending turmeric root powder, ginger, vanilla, and cinnamon. You may consider adding this one to lemonade or for a latte. Two more choices launched this summer: Daily Greens, with matcha mixed with moringa, spirulina, lemon, mint, coconut, and monk fruit, and a cleansing Apple Cider Vinegar, a blend of cranberry and hibiscus. The four choices each have 15 to 25 calories. Mix them in a smoothie, or swirl into yogurt or oatmeal.
