Attention cocktail lovers: It’s almost time for Thirst Boston

It’s fun and games (and cocktails) at Thirst Boston.

Prepare your liver: Cocktail extravaganza Thirst Boston takes place April 26-28, with seminars, parties, and, yes, plenty of imbibing at venues throughout the city.

There are an assortment of weekend events geared toward cocktail amateurs, aficionados, and those who still think Cosmos are cool. Pick your poison: Raise money for food charity Lovin’ Spoonfuls at a state fair-themed party with carnival games and prizes; watch a ferocious blended-drink competition — then sample the wares and vote on the winner; attend an intergalactic-themed dance party. With enough drinks, why not?

Studious sorts can attend seminars about mezcal and natural wines; learn how to make cocktails for a crowd; and take a walking tour through Boston’s booze-soaked neighborhoods, from Chinatown to the old Combat Zone, with mixology legend Brother Cleve.
