    ‘Game of Thrones’ final-season runtimes are out

    Hello, I’m here to burst your bubble. If you’re a “Game of Thrones” fan, then you know the eighth and final season is approaching, due on HBO on April 14.

    You also know that the season will include only six episodes, but that each episode will be movie-length. In January at a Golden Globes party, HBO’s then-CEO Richard Plepler said he’d seen rough cuts of the final season, and added, “The guys have done six movies. The reaction I had while watching them was, ‘I’m watching a movie.”

    Alas, the whole movie-length line is untrue, a rumor. Turns out that the runtimes of each of the final six include three episodes that are an hour or less. Let’s just say “movie-length” is an overstatement. Here are the times:


    Episode 1: 54 mins

    Episode 3: 60 mins

    Episode 4: 78 mins
