If you’ve watched “Game of Thrones” with an eye to fashion, John Varvatos is there for you. You’ve already got your “GoT” wine, and your “GoT” Monopoly, but you’re still hankering for some medieval-ish clothes. Now, the designer is introducing an “exclusive menswear capsule collection” that ties in with the HBO epic, whose eighth and final season premieres on April 14.
The new line — the only luxury fashion in an official partnership with HBO this season — launches on Thursday, and it ranges from graphic T-shirts ($98) to hand-dyed leather jackets ($2,698). The 11 “Game of Thrones” pieces also include a messenger bag, a Three-Eyed Raven hoodie, and outerwear printed with the iron throne motif. It’s not quite cosplay, but it’ll scratch the itch. According to the official description, “the collection maintains the authentic attitude of the John Varvatos brand flourished with updated details inherent to moments seen throughout the series.”
Varvatos is pleased. Turns out he’s a big fan. “From the very first episode, I have been inspired by the incredible costumes in ‘Game of Thrones,’ ” he said in a statement. “To have this opportunity to collaborate, is a dream come true.”Matthew Gilbert can be reached at email@example.com.
